Let's continue with the next which comes in list is, Enterprise Plus Licensing..
VMware Enterprise Plus License:
This is the top tier of licensing offered.
Includes all features of standard and enterprise licensing along with following:-
Distributed Virtual Switching:
Standard switches are located on ESXi host whereas virtual distributed switches are locate on vCenter server.
Standard switch has to be configured on each host manually, and they all must match. But for dVS, multiple host share same configuration and connect to one switch.
Following are the features extra from our standard switch:
- SNMP
- Templated
- Netflow
- LACP
- Centralised Port Configuration
- Input/Output control & traffic shaping
- PvLANs (Private vLANs)
Host Profiles:
This allows for keeping consistent configuration between multiple host. We can remediate any host that has configuration other than the desired profile.
For this, a "Golden Profile" is created and other host are checked against this profile.
