Chapter 8.1 - VMware Networking

We will be covering VMware Networking part in this module and it's sub-modules!


Virtual network is an IP network for virtual machine that integrates seamlessly with the existing physical server environment.

It helps VMs to connect with physical network.

Like a physical machine requires a NIC and a switch for network connectivity, similarly a virtual machine need a virtual nic (vmnic) and a virtual switch for n/w connectivity with other VMs.

Now since we are aware that every VM requires a virtual NIC, so it is important to understand if we need one or multiple physical NICs on our physical server.
